Senior Data Analyst

Brisbane's leading digital agency is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to lead an exciting new chapter in digital product analytics and data-driven innovation for our clients.

The overall objective of this role is to use your technical expertise and experience to translate user, product, business or other data into information and insights to support the company and our clients in making informed business decisions.

You will be responsible for planning, maintaining, and implementing data collection methods (e.g. product or website tracking), analysis, and data presentations (e.g., reports, dashboards), ensuring that current best practices are applied.

You will also be required to continuously evaluate and review data analysis and performance analytics methods and platforms to maintain data integrity in the organisation.

We work with clients in the education, health, and social sector, applying creative and technical expertise to produce digital products and strategic solutions that tackle complex problems. For you, this often means treading into new territory defining measurement and evaluation plans on greenfield digital solutions. It also needs to be backed up by ongoing reliability, consistency and effectiveness of data-driven reporting and insights that are easily consumable and highly valuable to our clients.

Our studio is based conveniently in Fortitude Valley, close to public transport.

To be successful you'll need:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in data and analytics roles
  • Tertiary qualification with strong foundation in statistics or maths, such as a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Finance
  • Understanding of data analysis and performance analytics methods & techniques
  • Advanced experience in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Intermediate experience in SQL and Excel
  • Advanced experience in Tableau and Power BI
  • Knowledge and experience of marketing principles, channels and tracking methods
  • Knowledge and ability to define, measure, report and debate on common product metrics such as NPS, churn rate, DAU/MAU & CLTV.
  • Ability to multitask and work on more than one project/client.
  • Ability to work to timelines including deadlines, milestones, and check-ins
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, specifically being able to listen, analyse and act on the needs of the development team and external stakeholders
  • Confidence and professional presentation skills to build trusting relationships and rapport with customers and external stakeholders
  • An adaptable and experimentation mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of enterprise level data and analytics methods, platforms and processes.

For bonus points:
  • Proven ability to deliver government projects aligned to the DSS standards and WCAG Accessibility standards
  • Relevant certification, e.g. Google Analytics
  • Experience working with Sitecore
  • Experience working with GovCMS or the drupal platform.
  • Experience in Python and/or R
  • Experience with CDPs such as Snowflake, and integration with Azure
  • Experience with GA4 implementation
  • Demonstrable knowledge of data privacy, data security or similar areas, e.g. ISO9001, APPs.

This role doesn’t currently have any direct reports, however there is opportunity for growth into a leadership position. We’re looking for a “do-er”—someone that excels at their craft and could mentor, not manage.
