Expressions of Interest: Test Engineer

Liquid Interactive is one of Brisbane’s most exciting independent digital experience agencies. We are hiring a passionate Test Engineer to enhance the quality and efficiency of our technical delivery capabilities for our clients. 

The role will see you work in close collaboration with our multidisciplinary team including developers, designers, data analysts, marketers, project managers and other external stakeholders.

We build a range of digital experience products including websites, web and mobile apps, eLearning, eCommerce and marketing campaigns. 

The Test Engineer plays a critical role in defining and delivering the quality required to maintain our reputation for delivering great digital experiences. 

We’re based conveniently in Fortitude Valley, close to public transport. 

You will need to show a minimum 1-2 years experience as a Test Engineer (or similar role) with knowledge of testing and quality assurance principles and an understanding of agile delivery. 

Core responsibilities of the role: 

  • Work with Business Analysts, Developers, UX/UI Designers, Product Managers in an agile environment to ensure the quality. 
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop Test Plan, Test Design, Test Execution and Test Reporting 
  • Well acquainted testing various phases of SDLC (System, Functional, Regression, E2E and User Acceptance Testing) 
  • Passionate about testing and able to work with current processes 
  • Web Accessibility and Automation experience will be bonus otherwise keen to learn and explore  

To be successful you'll need: 

  • Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) using various methodologies like Waterfall and Agile 
  • Experience in developing test scenarios, test cases, test executions to ensure conformance of requirements 
  • Experience in web testing - Cross browser, UX, functional, and responsive testing (including mobile platforms - iOS and Android) 
  • Experience in defect detection, reporting and tracking using Jira 
  • Experience with project development software e.g. JIRA, Confluence 
  • Experience with testing tools/extensions e.g. Zephyr Scale (JIRA), Sang It 
  • ISTQB Certification 
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a range of tasks as delegated throughout the project life cycle 
  • Ability to multitask and work on more than one project/client 
  • Ability to work to timelines including deadlines, milestones and check-ins 
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team 
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Good communication (written and oral as well as presentation abilities) and interpersonal skills
